George W. Confer

George W. Confer, 71, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at Clarview Nursing Home.

He was born June 2, 1943 in Clarion, PA, the son of James F. and Elva M. (Blair) Confer.

George lived in Clarion for most of his life and moved to Rimersburg in 2004, calling the area home ever since. He was a truck driver for numerous companies. George was a member of the Brookville Eagles and in his younger years enjoyed shooting pool. Spending time with family and going on picnics were two of his favorite hobbies, and he also loved going on car rides and going dancing with his wife, Darla. Those who knew George will fondly remember how he called everyone "Babe," but made sure that his wife had the designation of "Number One Babe."

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of almost nine years, Darla R. (Mortimer) Confer, whom he married June 11, 2006; daughter, Elva M. Warrner, of Clarion; step-daughter, Danielle R. Mortimer, of Rimersburg; three grandchildren; brother, Lewis E. "Dean" Confer and wife, Betty, of Brookville; sisters, Faye E. Bigley and husband, James, of Shippenville, and Helen R. "Jo" Custer, of Rimersburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and dog, Wolfie.

George was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Nova; brother, Harry L. Confer; and sisters, M. Alice Kiser and Inez M. Reedy.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the funeral home, with Peggy Mortimer officiating.

Burial will be in Strattanville Memorial Cemetery, Strattanville, PA.
