Robert N. Zeiger

Robert Nelson Zeiger, 89, of Kittanning, PA, died July 2, 2015. Born in Kearny, NJ, he was raised in Summit, NJ.

He studied Engineering at Northwestern University until being drafted into the Army in 1944. The Army sent him to Penn State University to continue his studies. Upon discharge, he returned to Penn State, where he earned three engineering degrees and was a member of Tau Beta Pi and four other honorary societies. Bob had a beautiful, baritone voice, and sang church solos while at Northwestern. He played the flute and was an avid tennis player and swimmer. Employed by US Steel, he established computer programs in plants here and in France. In retirement, he split his time between Acapulco, Mexico and Kittanning, and climbed mountains in Mexico and France.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Dorothy (Slade) Zeiger, and is survived by his brother, Donald Zeiger of Wilton, NY.
