Kathryn P. "Kitty" Briceland

Kathryn P. "Kitty" Briceland, 69, of Karns City, PA, passed on to eternal reward on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, following a 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on October 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Andrew C. and Helen (Gruber) Briceland.

Kitty graduated from Mars High School in 1964. She went on to work for Bobbie Brooks, Inc. immediately out of high school and worked there and in the garment industry for many years. Kitty moved to Greenville, NC to accept a job with GUESS and retired from there in 2000. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Chicora and was very devoted to her faith.

Kitty enjoyed spending winters at her home in Brooksville, FL, crocheting, crafting and spending time with family and friends. She loved vintage dolls, brooches and antiques, and had her collections displayed for all to enjoy. Kitty will be remembered for her quick wit and love of fun. She loved to laugh and make other laugh too.

She is survived by her life partner of over 40 years, Clarence "Burt" Williams, of Karns City; step-daughters, Sherry Adams and husband, Chris, of Fairmount City, and Brenda Karas and husband, Chet, of Pittsburgh; brothers, Earl Briceland and wife, Joyce, of California, and Andrew Briceland and wife, Julie, of York, PA; grandchildren, Jared and Alyssa Bowser and Jeremy and Caden Adams; beloved beagle, Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Darlene Williams; and beloved poodle, Coco Bean.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Kitty will be held at a later time.
