William K. "Bill" Fox, 91, of Dayton, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 20, 1925 in Dora, PA, the son of Oran and Pearl (Hollenbaugh) Fox.

Bill graduated from Dayton High School in 1943 and honorably served in the US Army during World War II. For 25 years, he worked as a real estate construction clerk for JCPenney in Pittsburgh and retired in 1990. Bill belonged to VETS Post #863 in Kittanning and was a lifetime member of the Dayton Sportsman's Club, where he also was treasurer for many years. He was a member and former Elder of Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church. Bill loved being outdoors and his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, golfing and playing cards.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Joanne E. (Stonbraker) Fox, whom he married January 7, 1951; daughters, Christine Walker, of Joliet, IL, and Janine Fox, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and grandson, Jacob Mendolera, of Akron, OH.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine Shumaker; and son-in-law, David Walker.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main St., Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 2540 Dayton Smicksburg Rd., Dayton, with Sheila Wadding officiating. Following the service, military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bill's honor to Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 2540 Dayton Smicksburg Rd., Dayton, PA 16222.
