Bertha Marie Reefer

Bertha Marie (Houser) Reefer, 103, of Gastown, PA, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at St. Andrew's Village.

She was born February 22, 1911 in Plumcreek Township, PA, a daughter of the late Robert Houser and Minnie Edith (Dunmire) Houser.

A homemaker, she was a lifelong resident of Gastown and a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Elderton Senior Citizens.

Bertha was preceded in death by her infant son, Ronald, in 1942; husband, Lloyd, in 1965; sister, Virginia Rearick, in 1965; and son, William, in 2010.

She is survived by her daughters, Nadine (Russell) Altheide, of Greensburg, and Linda (William) Sullivan, of Stow, OH; daughter-in-law, Irene Reefer, of Metairie, LA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from noon until the time of funeral services at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.
