Francis O'Donnell

Francis O'Donnell, 83, of Putneyville, PA died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Kittanning Care Center.

He was born June 15, 1933 in Brownsville, PA to William J. and Marie (Berish) O'Donnell.

Francis spent many years in San Francisco, CA before moving back to Pennsylvania in 1986. He honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After the Navy, he worked for Charles Molle remodeling Victorian homes in San Francisco, at which time he meet Betty (Owen) O'Donnell. They were married 6 months later. A year and a half later, son Sean O'Donnell was born. For 17 years, Francis worked as a longshoreman and following an injury on the job, Francis was known for the ability to fix just about anything that needed to be repaired. Some of his hobbies included overhauling engines, repairing electronics of any kind and building remote control models. He is most known for his kind and generous nature.

He is survived by his sons, John Owen and wife, Deborah, of Weimar, CA, and Sean O'Donnell and wife, Rebecca, of Carson City, NV; a wealth of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; brother, Thomas O'Donnell, of Kansas; and sister, Jeannette A. Hoffman, of Eddyville.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and James O'Donnell; and sister, Mary Ellen O'Donnell.

At Francis' request, services will be private.
